Refurbishment Update - November
Development Project Update for November
Progress
- The contract was signed for Phase 1 – between Sussex County Croquet Club Limited and Harrity Building and Construction Limited.
- The submission to Adur of the “Approval of details reserved by a condition” was approved. This related to building finishes.
- Two temporary storage containers were set up adjacent to lawn 4 and coordinated by Linda Gavigan, club members emptied the social area, kitchen and old office. A full skip of waste material was disposed off-site.
- Construction work commenced as planned on 20th October and work thus far has focussed on services isolations and the external walls and windows to the social area.
- A structural engineer has been employed to finalise the support details for the roof between the link two buildings. His work has shown that the roof connection to the social area is more complex than previously thought and requires additional foundation pads and steel beams. We await a price for the changes which will be accommodated within the contingency.
- The layout of the new kitchen has been finalised with the units identified and priced from Howdens. These are to be purchased by SCCC Ltd. before year end.
- Details for the position of electrical fittings and cables have been agreed.
- Progress photos are in-hand, thanks to John and Ray.
- A decision was made that any onsite visits will require hard hats and hi-vis jackets to be worn. White hats are to be worn by Richard Carline and Paul Brown, and blue hats are to be worn by visitors they authorise - no unauthorised people are allowed to enter the site.
Costs
The Project Control Estimate for Phase 1 remains at £312,200.
