Two events in the one-day format: Association croquet handicap and advanced 14pt games.
The handicap event was won by Phil Dunk; a combination team of Steve Lewendon & Jim Mortell came second.
The advanced event was won by Simon Hayward Tapp who has rejoined SCCC after a gap of some decades. Welcome back, Simon. The runner-up was Frances Low.

B Level Challenges
A golf croquet and association croquet tournament for B level players on the same weekend made for a very good turnout on the lawns. Unfortunately the weather was less welcoming, with cold driving wind and rain on Saturday. Still, the sun came out on Sunday, jackets came off and everyone felt better.
The Association Croquet competition was organised as a Swiss and was won by Richard Jackson from Southwick, who won all five games. The runner-up was Paul Wolff.

We were pleased to welcome a contigent of players in the Golf Croquet competition from Sweden and Latvia, who stayed on in Brighton after the WCF Coaching Courses. The GC competition was won by Janis Steins from Latvia (8/11 wins in an American block). The runner-up was Andrew Dymond, also 8/11 wins.

There was a small celebration afterwards as we all enjoyed a glass of the Latvian liqueur they generously gave the club.

The Golf Croquet 'B' Level Series & National Final
Thanks to the efforts of Chris Roberts, a national B level GC competition is being organised this season for the first time. The arrangements are along the linbes of the Ascot Cup in that there are participating tournaments in local clubs.
Sussex is a participating club and the GC B Level Tournament on 4-5 May is a qualifying event. Places are available.
2 players wanted to make up numbers for the 10/10 Golf Croquet competition on 24th March. Apply on-line or contact Luc directly.
