Playing to a base of 10
This means that any player in a singles game whose handicap is above 6 will receive bisques, not just the higher handicapped player. If one of the two players in a singles games is below 10 then bisques are calculated in the normal way.
Examples
Player A h/c 18 v Player B h/c 12.
Neither player is below the base of 10 so Player A gets 18 minus 10 equals 8 bisques and Player B gets 12 – 10 = 2 bisques.
Player A h/c 6 v Player B h/c 9.
Both players below base so normal method applies: Player B gets 3 bisques.
Player A h/c 6 v Player B h/c 14.
One player below base so normal method applies: Player B gets 8 bisques.
